If you don't try this type of noodle soup while in Nha Trang, your trip will be incomplete. Although not everyone enjoys jellyfish, it is one of Nha Trang's specialties, and it is often served with fresh tuna or marlin. Despite the fact that Bun Cha Ca Sua (rice vermicelli with grilled fish and jellyfish) is prepared simply, it has provided diners with the natural flavor of the sea.
There are two types of edible jellyfish in Nha Trang. The foot jellyfish is one of them. This species has a milky white appearance and thread-like feelers. Foot jellyfish is beneficial to one's health because it may reduce body heat and treat ailments like coughs and lung irritation. With nutrients such as protein, calcium, ferrous compounds, and iota, foot jellyfish is an excellent alternative for those on a diet or who have cardiovascular problems.
Furthermore, foot jellyfish are commonly used in vermicelli cooking. When the jellyfishes are freshly collected and cleaned, they turn a gorgeous green and purple color. People would then soak them in alum water to shrink the jellyfish and then clean them with water again. The jellyfish will then be parboiled after being chopped into small slices. The practice of producing rice vermicelli with jellyfish also highlights the Central region's food tradition.
The bouillon for the dish is made entirely of fish, with only a few seasonings added. Other types of addictive substances can also be found in the sea. Bun Sua is always better served hot. Put the rice vermicelli in the bowl after parboiling it, then top with jellyfish slices and grilled chopped fish. Then pour in the bouillon. The crunchy jellyfish and the natural sweetness of the bouillon combine to form a delicious dish.
Bun Sua's major ingredient, jellyfish, would undoubtedly provide guests with a novel taste experience. These opalescent, elongated jellyfish are crunchy and delicious when served with rice vermicelli, fried fish, and a sweet and salty broth. Raw vegetables, chile, and lemon are required ingredients when enjoying this dish. Jellyfish and steamed sailfish were included in a bowl of "bun cha ca" from Nha Trang. This light dish is ideal for folks who are on a diet.
The jellyfish season lasts from the end of spring to the beginning of summer. In Nha Trang, though, a superb dish of rice vermicelli and jellyfish can be had at any time.
