Cong Do Island lies inside Bai Tu Long Bay and is located in the southeast of Ha Long Bay, 13 sea miles from the Bai Chay cruise terminal. The island is 23 363 km2 in size and contains a 172-meter-high mountain. This is one of the many lovely islands in the sea, with a wonderful natural salt lake that supports a diverse range of marine life, including shrimp, crab, fish, squid, seaweed, and algae.
The old Van Don trading port remains, albeit faintly, in the southeast of the island, confirming that the Cong Do islands once played a vital role in international commerce and trade. Without any prior biological expertise, visitors can immediately see that the ecology here is incredibly diversified. There are intermingled types of vines, tiny trees, and giant trees with up to 30-40 cm in diameter that stretch from the island's edge to the mountain top.
