Foodies will undoubtedly mention Nem (pork rolls), especially Nem Nuong (grilled pork rolls) in Ninh Hoa or Nha Trang while discussing Nha Trang food. Nem Nuong Nha Trang is also regarded as having the best street cuisine in the city.
Nem Ninh Hoa has contributed to the enrichment of Nha Trang cuisine as a delectable delicacy not to be missed. There are two forms of this food:
Nem Chua (fermented pork roll): Pork that has been ground until it is smooth is used to make Nem Nuong.
Nem Nuong (grilled pork roll): The thighs and skin of a pig are marinated in unique seasonings before being rolled in gooseberry leaves or starfruit leaves or "vong" leaves, then wrap fresh or dried banana leaves outside for a good layer to make Nem Chua. Nem Chua is ready to eat after being organically fermented for three days. Nem is soft, sticky, and delectable since the entire process of creating it is done by hand. You can try this food with vegetables and rice paper.
When you eat Nem Nuong Ninh Hoa, you will smell pork, sweet, sour, crunchy, and spicy all at once, which is quite intriguing. In particular, nem nuong (grilled nem) is served with a green papaya salad that brings a new flavor. Furthermore, the pork is crushed into a paste with garlic, honey, and black pepper, then wrapped around bamboo chopsticks and cooked to perfection. It's served with a tray of fresh herbs and pickled vegetables, and it's all wrapped up in rice paper before being dipped in a unique sauce.
The sauce is the star of this dish, and it is just fantastic. In a sauce that is equal parts peanutty, salty, and sweet, minced pork is blended. The dish includes grilled pork, a deep-fried spring roll wrapper, and a rice paper-wrapped salad. The cost of each set ranged from VND 40.000 (roughly 2.0 USD) to VND 60.000 (roughly 3.0 USD).
