One of the most traditional dishes of H'Mong tribe in Sapa is Men Men. It's made from local corn and is both bendable and fragrant.
Men Men is one of the Hmong people's most popular dishes; it's made of corn and can be found in various mountainous locations of Vietnam's north. Because the Hmong people frequently live in high mountains where the living conditions are harsh and they cannot cultivate wet rice, corn is their primary source of sustenance. Locals have devised the Men Men dish to make eating corn simpler.
After harvesting the crops, the Hmong grind the maize to eliminate the grit. This procedure used to take a long time because maize was ground by hand in the past, but machines have now taken over the hard task. Before cooking, put the ground cornmeal in a pan and combine it with a little water. The amount of water used must be exactly right, not too much or too little. As a result, Men Men has a unique sweet flavor.
Soups like pumpkin soup or bone broth are frequently served with Men Men.
