The Huong River or Perfume River, with its lovely fairy hair, is an emblem of the Hue Imperial City. In the architecture of the Nguyen Dynasty, it is an important aspect of Fengshui. The river has inspired many artists and musicians to create music. Furthermore, it is Hue's and the locals' soul.
For nearly a century, the river has been known as "Perfume" (Huong). This is primarily due to flowers from upstream orchards falling into the water throughout the autumn, giving the river a rich, flowery sense. Because of modernization and the increased number of riverboats, it may not have the same sweet smell as formerly. It is, nonetheless, a well-known monument in Hue that is well worth a visit.
Perfume River (Huong River) stretches for around 80 kilometers. It is considered best to view the river from its source; additionally, you can view it as it meanders through dense forests and tropical flora. The river has two origins, both of which flow through Hue's heart and merge at Bang Lang Fork, both of which originate in the Truong Son mountain range.
The Huong River meanders through Kim Long, Nguyet Bieu, Vy Da, Dong Ba, Gia Hoi, Nam Pho, Bao Vinh, and Dinh market villages.
Many spectacular structures, such as the Hue Citadel, Thien Mu Pagoda, Minh Mang Tomb, Hon Chen Temple, on both sides of the bank of the Perfume River Hue, reflect on the water and have made it more lyrical and even more melodic.
