The Bitexco Financial Tower in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) stands 262 meters tall in the heart of the city's business area and provides guests with an unrivaled city vista from its Sky Deck. This 68-story tower, designed by renowned American architect Carlos Zapata, features offices, stores, restaurants, and a helipad. The building was recently placed fifth on CNNGo's list of the world's 20 most famous skyscrapers.
In 2011, NCSEA awarded the project an "Excellence in Structural Engineering" award, and Bitexco Financial Tower is now the world's 124th tallest skyscraper. The Sky Deck, where visitors may enjoy breathtaking views of the bustling city below, is the tower's main feature.
Visitors to the Sky Deck are escorted by an English-speaking guide and can use interactive touch screen fact boxes to learn about areas of interest related to city landmarks seen from above.
Although the major draw here is not shopping, but rather the views, six of the Bitexco Financial Tower's floors have been dedicated to retail space. The public observation deck on the 49th floor is accessible via one of the tower's 16 elevators, which take 35 seconds to reach any floor, regardless of level.
The Bitexco Vertical Run, which takes place from the ground floor lobby to the Sky Deck, is another popular attraction at the tower. The race covers 178 meters, with Germany's Vertical World Circuit Champion Thomas Dold holding the current record of 4 minutes and 51 seconds.
The Saigon River and the city are visible from the Sky Deck, which offers stunning 360-degree views. Visitors can also get a closer look by using one of the binocular stands. The 50th and 51st-floor restaurants offer spectacular views, especially at night when the metropolis below glitters. On the Sky Deck, there are also local art displays where you may buy gifts such as textiles and locally produced tea.
The Sky Deck is open daily from 09.30 – 21.30.
