Millions of Vietnamese pilgrims go here every spring following the Lunar New Year to pray for all the health and prosperity they'll need to get through the year.
According to the book Huong Son Thien Tru Pha, Huong Tich temple was established in the 15th century by a monk who happened across the location on his route to seek enlightenment. Later, to take advantage of the wonderful surroundings in this location, several shrines and temples were built.

To get there, climb a long and steep staircase (4 km; usually takes 1 hour) or take the cableway to the top of the mountain, where we will begin our tour of the pagodas, temples, and grottoes that make up the Perfume Pagoda tour. Some of the features of the Perfume Pagoda include the Thien Tru Pagoda, Hinh Bong Pagoda, Giai Oan Pagoda, Thanh Son Pagoda, Huong Tich Grotto, and the temples of Long Van, Cay Khe, and Tuyet Son are some of the features of the Perfume Pagoda.
