Dau Go (Wooden Stakes or Wooden Head) Island, which floats in green water, is one of Halong Bay's most well-known tourist attractions. Tourists will find Dau Go Cave, a fascinating cave on Dau Go Island. The cave entrance appears to be a jellyfish-like 90-step stair from distance. A large system of stalagmites and stalactites that look like stone waterfalls lead into the cave, making everyone feel at one with nature.
The cave is divided into three sections. The first space has a curved design and plenty of natural light. This area's ceiling is a massive oil painting depicting primeval landscapes with stalagmites and stalactites that change color depending on the intensity and angle of the light. Many visitors enjoy letting their imaginations run wild as they gaze at the stalagmites and stalactites.
Tourists will reach the second section after going through the first region by a tiny entryway. It's a little dark, but it has a more intriguing aura of fuzzy picture generated by the perfect mixture of light and stalactites that piques your interest while also being a little spooky.
The journey continues with the sudden exploration of the last massive. Here is a sacred fairy well, which is said to be used for wonders coming down from the kingdom of heaven.
According to legend, Dau Go was derived from the victory of Supreme Commander Tran Hung Dao (1228-1300) over the Mongolian invasion of the Bach Dang River in the 13th century by the application of booby traps made of giant wooden planks of steel. At high tide, he found a place to hide every stake to prevent the Mongols from seeing it. Some of these wooden stakes later flowed into this cave and local people discovered it.
Dau Go Cave is proudly recognized in the world-renowned tourism book Merveille de Monde, which was published in France in 1938 and features the world's most beautiful and worthwhile tourist destinations, including Dau Go Cave, which is known as "Grotte des Marveilles" (Cave of Wonders).
