Tra Co Beach is known as "the most lyrical beach in Vietnam" with its long stretch of fine white sand and clear blue water, marks the edge of a natural island formed by the effect of waves and sea currents on the shore.
Tra Co is 9 kilometers from Mong Cai Town in the far northeast of the country, in Quang Ninh Province, which borders China. The distance between Hai Phong City and Mong Cai Town is 206 kilometers. Others, on the other hand, prefer to leave Hon Gai (Ha Long) for a shorter 132-kilometer journey.
Tourists may witness congested communities on both sides of the road, a number of towering sand dunes of 3-4 meters, extended rows of casuarinaceae avoiding sand storms for local people, and mangroves from afar on their trip to the Tra Co beach.
From Got Tip in the north to Ngoc Tip in the south, Tra Co Beach is 17 kilometers long. The beach's vast expanse allows it to accommodate a significant number of visitors at any given moment. Tra Co's ambiance is calm and fresh, with solitude and primitive patterns, thanks to its remote location from the city and industrial zones. Tra Co has an average annual temperature of 22.7 degrees Celsius. The lowest temperature recorded is 20 degrees Celsius in four months (December to March), and the highest temperature recorded is 28 degrees Celsius only in the summer.
Because there are few shops, restaurants, and street vendors on Tra Co Beach, it is preferred by most tourists. Tourists looking for fresh seafood can get it easily and cheaply from fishing boats anchored on the beach.
Tourists who visit Tra Co at the end of the lunar calendar month of May will be able to participate in the "Tra Co Festival," which runs from May 30 to June 6. Tourists may see all of Tra Co's quintessence throughout the festival's six days.
