Lan Ha Bay is a tranquil bay in the Cat Ba Islands group, located next to Halong Bay. Lan Ha Bay includes over 400 large and small islands with lush foliage and greenery. Limestone also makes up a significant chunk of the bay's small islets. On the island, nature is serene. Around Sen Islet, Cu Islet, and Monkey Islet, there are many calm water areas perfect for swimming and canoeing. Other natural attractions in the area include stalactite caverns like Ham Rong and Do Cung, as well as beaches like Tung Bear Cave and Cat Dua Beach.
Like its name, Lan Ha Bay is like a lovely fairy in the world, possessing a peaceful and timid beauty. It was the famous actor Leonardo DiCaprio who had to say "this place is like paradise" through a short clip posted by the Hollywood actor on social networks. Located to the east of Cat Ba Island, Lan Ha Bay covers an area of more than 7000 hectares, featuring the breathtaking beauty of about 400 densely packed large and small islands with many interesting shapes. A special feature of Lan Ha Bay is that the small islands in the bay are covered with green trees. Along with that, in the islands, there are small sandy beaches that create a special beauty.
Not only that, because it is located in the Cat Ba World Biosphere Reserve, Lan Ha Bay is really outstanding in terms of biodiversity. In Lan Ha Bay, there are many rare and precious animals and plants, typically langurs-animals that are conserved by international organizations; adjacent ecosystems such as coral reefs, mangroves, Kim Giao forests... In terms of cultural factors, there is the Cai Beo site, which was inhabited by ancient Vietnamese thousands of years ago. Those values make Lan Ha Bay unique compared to other bays in the world.
Lan Ha Bay features 139 white-sand beaches that are both gorgeous and clean. The calm water and gentle waves make this an ideal swimming spot. Underneath the turquoise sea, magnificent coral reefs such as those found in Van Boi and Van Ha are worth a dive. If you want to learn about the bay, it will take a few days, but if you don't have that much time, you can ask boat owners for recommendations.
The first stop on the tourist trail in Lan Ha Bay is Cat Dua Island. The majority of the boats do not come to admire what nature has bestowed on Cat Ba; rather, they come to admire what nature has bestowed on Cat Ba. Due to the presence of monkeys, the island is also known as Monkey Island. They might charge out, eager to seize food from oblivious tourists. They have the ability to bite if provoked.
