The Han River Bridge, which spans the picturesque Han River in Da Nang, is a icon of Danang's new life and rising yearning. Every year, a great number of tourists flock to the Han River Bridge to experience Vietnam's first swing bridge.
The construction of the Han River Bridge began on September 2nd, 1998, and was completed on March 29th, 2000. This is the first and only swing bridge built by Vietnamese engineers and workers, and it is the only swing bridge in Vietnam to date. It connects the East and West sides of the city, as well as the Son Tra peninsula and the city center.
The Han River Swing Bridge has 11 spans and is 487.7 meters long and 12.9 meters broad. Each span is 33 meters long with reinforced concrete structures, and there are two cable-stayed spans that are 122.7 meters long with steel structural beams and the main bridge tower, as well as a concrete reinforcement slab. The Han River Bridge was named "the work of typical quality for the five years 2001-2005." It contributes to the city's image as a young metropolis while also laying the groundwork for the city's economic development, particularly through tourism in Da Nang.
Because of the system of decorative lighting that runs the length of the bridge, the Han River Bridge is particularly lovely and romantic when the city lights up. Among the dreaming Han River, the Han River Bridge turns into a magnificent lightning architectural feature.
The Han River Bridge is unique in that the central section of the bridge will turn 90 degrees axis and along the river, allowing huge ships to sail through. According to the most recent information, the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism in Da Nang is proposing that the Han River Bridge swing from 11 p.m. to 12 a.m. on weekends to accommodate tourists.
Some travelers believe that visiting Danang city without seeing the swinging bridge and snapping some photos for this occasion is equivalent to not having visited Danang city at all. As a result, when you visit this bridge, you should take pictures of the exciting moments.
