Danang is also known for bridge towns like: Han Bridge River, Tran Thi Ly Bridge, Dragon Bridge, and Thuan Phuoc Bridge. The Dragon Bridge is an unique Vietnam bridge, the most famous bridge in the city of Danang, as the dragon's head breathes fire and springs water.
The Dragon Bridge is a dragon-shaped bridge that spans the Han River in Danang, Vietnam. The Dragon Bridge is 666m long, 37.5m wide, and has six traffic lanes. The bridge has a standing vibration level of six and a navigational clearance of approximately seven meters. It has a 200m main span and two 128m sidespans. The dragon's head span is 72m, and its tail span is 64m. At night, 2,500 LED lights illuminate the bridge. The Louis Berger Group, an American architecture firm, designed the bridge.
In the port town of Danang, Vietnam, the Dragon River Bridge is built across the Han River. The Han River divides the town into two with the airport to the west and beaches to the east. The bridge is the sixth to span the river and is named because its appearance resembles a dragon, a cultural creature in the country.
On the West Bank (from the Cham Museum), the bridge links up the Nguyen Van Linh Highway and the Son Tra-Dien Ngoc Seasides Highway on the Eastern Shore. This makes it possible for tourists to quickly reach the beaches from the Da Nang international airport.
Every weekend and holiday at 9 p.m., the dragon on the bridge can breathe fire in 2 minutes and water in 3 minutes, while various-colored LED lights illuminate the dragon's head and body.
