The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is the last resting home of President Ho Chi Minh, the most national and iconic hero of Vietnam. The President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is located in the Ba Dinh district, close to the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, West Lake, Temple of Literature, and Hanoi Flag Tower.
Between 1973 and 1975, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum was constructed in two years. The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is modeled after Lenin's in Moscow. The Mausoleum, which is composed of marble and granite, is three stories tall. The great President's body is displayed in the second store, lying as if he were sleeping in the humble clothes he wore while he was alive. The words "Chu tich Ho Chi Minh" (President Ho Chi Minh) are engraved into the pediment above the mausoleum's portico, which is supported by twenty sturdy granite-covered pillars. People from all throughout the country supplied the building's materials, which ranged from outside granite to internal wood. Even the Mausoleum's surrounding garden contains a collection of plants and bonsais given from all throughout Vietnam. The 79 cycad trees in front of the mausoleum represent Uncle Ho's 79 springs of life.
