Elephant Springs, a natural spring with a plethora of waterfalls that emerge from the woods, is a popular tourist destination on the way from Hue to Da Nang, around 53 kilometers from Hue and 20 kilometers north of Hai Van pass, not far from Lang Co beach.
Elephant Springs has natural swimming pools under a tiny waterfall provides an especially pleasant dip on a warm day. There are many more places to explore upstream. You may wind down the smooth rocks at the base of the fall.
You can reach the Elephant Springs from the parking spot after a five-minute trek through the jungle. Several natural ponds with pure, refreshing water are dispersed across the landscape, which are surrounded by massive stones. When you get to springs, you'll notice a boulder that resembles an elephant's head, hence the name. Climb and investigate the stones (they can be fairly slippery, so be careful), bathe in the springs, or simply relax on the villagers' lounging mats.
On weekdays and off season, the site can be quite deserted, which is fantastic if you want some peace, but not so great if you want to buy some food and drinks because the food stalls around the springs are only open on peak days. While you're wallowing in the water, you can sip a cold beer and gnaw on a scraggy boiled chicken. When the stalls aren't open, it's a good idea to bring your own lunch.
It's not difficult to find, but it isn't properly signposted, so it's best to hire a guide — most motorbike taxi drivers are familiar with the area. They can also assist you with the food and beverage situation.
