Nha Trang boasts a long and gorgeous beach, as well as a diverse coral reef and great biodiversity. Nha Trang is one of the best and most economical diving and snorkeling destinations in Vietnam.
Nha Trang Bay, which is home to many colorful corals, has been voted the 29th most beautiful bay in the world. With almost 350 types of marine life, Nha Trang has a high biodiversity. Corals grow on the surface of rocks. They dwell and thrive in the tropical ocean's shallow, warm currents. Corals use stinging cells on their tentae to collect plankton. Because many species only grow one centimeter each year, it takes thousands of years to develop a coral reef like the one we have currently in Nha Trang.
As a result, Nha Trang is well-known as a scuba diving paradise in Vietnam, with excellent services and a gorgeous blue sea. Diving and snorkeling are probably the most popular activities in Nha Trang, with practically all tourists enjoying them. Simply venture a bit further offshore and you'll find a plethora of islands that provide similar activities. If you want to go snorkeling, however, you should avoid the windy season, which runs from October to December. The weather is not perfect for snorkeling. You can also observe the underwater life while snorkeling. It's also a smart idea if you wish to acquire your scuba certification here.
Nha Trang now boasts more than ten dive shops, making it a "buyer-friendly" market. PADI open-water courses are supplied with full equipment rental, so those looking for certification will find that the money they invest here will provide a far better value. However, experienced travelers advise that, like in other parts of Asia, you should double-check what you're getting for your money and insist on speaking with the teacher or instructor, not just a "salesman." Remember that diving, especially training, should not be judged solely on the basis of cost.
