Make the acquaintance of curious locals and learn about their lifestyle and culture over a traditional lunch. Snack on weird and wonderful delicacies, and discover a slice of rural paradise while cycling through remote villages and along paths that border spectacular rice paddies. After the sun sets on an action-packed day, fall asleep in a village homestay before waking up early to see this stunning region bathed in morning sunlight. Then, with batteries fully recharged, wave goodbye to new friends and make tracks back to the enigmatic Vietnamese capital

2. We are aware that a good tour must have good hotels. In Vietnam, hotel prices make up the major expense of your holiday. Therefore, we would like to clarify how we define these charges:
Boutique & character hotels from US$ 50- US$ 80 per room/night (highly recommended)
First Class = 3 star hotels from US$ 40 - US$ 60 per room/night
Superior = 4 star hotels from US$ 80 - US$ 110 per room/night
Deluxe = 5 star hotels from US$120 - US$ 180++ per room/night
3. Tour prices are based on sharing a half twin roon at selected hotels. Tour prices are a guideline only, please contact us for a detailed quotation. We will get back to you shortly.
4. More people = lower prices. Please ask for a quote based on your group size.
5. The above rates do NOT include "peak season" hotel surcharges, nor the charge for any compulsory festive gala dinners. Please email us to check availability, together with the cost of any "peak season" surcharges if applicable.
6. Child under 2 years old are free of charge for tour & pay 50% of internal airline charges, from 2 to 5 years old 50% charge for tour & 75% of internal airline charges, from 5 to 12 years old 75% for tour & full internal airline charges. 12 years and older = 100% (charged as an adult).

Welcome to Vietnam. From your hotel in Hanoi's Old Quarter, you will be picked up by our car and tour guide between 7.30 am - 8.30 am. We will lay over in Luong Son Hoa Binh where you are able to admire the northwestern mountains and the local produce. Upon arrival in Mai Chau, we head to Ban Lac for a special lunch at a Bungalow house of the White Thai ethnic people, you rest before starting to visit Mai Chau.
After lunch, you participate in the program to explore Mai Chau valley by bike, visit the pretty small stilt house of the Thai people to learn their unique culture, customs and traditions. Biking riding through the fields and villages, our tour guides will take you to visit the Brocade booth, learn how the Thai people weave brocade, you can buy yourself a special gift or a souvenir for relatives.
This time is also a great opportunity to take some photos to record some memories about this journey. Then, you return to your homestay and relax with a cold drink while watching the sun set over the peaceful mountains. Alternatively, for the food lovers, why not help the landlady to cook dinner! At the homestay you'll sleep on mattresses in a communal room. Bedding and mosquito nets are provided. Shared toilet and bathroom facilities are basic.
After breakfast at the homestay, strap on the walking shoes and take to the hills on a trek along the traditional paths of the area. Visit villages of the White Thai people, exchanging smiles and learning about their everyday lives and customs from your local guide. The trek is approximately 3 hours in length and not overly strenuous, however a good solid pair of shoes is recommended as you will be walking on uneven trails and up and down hills. The scenery of this area is stunning so have cameras at the ready and, as there is no rush, there are plenty of opportunities to take a break, enjoy the pristine scenery, take some photos or just relax in a place where few outsiders venture. Return to the homestay for lunch, then it’s time to say farewell to your hosts and gorgeous Mai Chau and return to the vibrant streets of Hanoi around 5pm.
